Job Title: Medical Support Assistant| Helena and Ft. Harrison, MT

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:
We are seeking Medical Support Assistants (MSAs) to provide scheduling, reception, and administrative support to Veterans in accordance with VA guidelines. MSAs will coordinate patient appointments, manage consults, and ensure exceptional customer service to Veterans, families, and providers.

REQUIRED AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Have a High School education or GED equivalent
Oral and written proficiency with English
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Access)
Type at least 50 WPM
Have no health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with the performance of assigned duties.
Basic medical terminology knowledge
Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in similar setting.
Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Experience with appointment scheduling, medical records, or healthcare support preferred.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedule and coordinate appointments in line with VA guidelines.

Work with schedulers, receptionists, and providers to ensure excellent patient communication and service.
Validate and update patient demographic information.
Process and manage records in VA systems (CPRS, VistA, HSRM, PPMS).
Assist with Veteran care coordination with community providers.
Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) daily.
Provide outstanding customer service to Veterans, families, staff, and providers.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

HOURS OF OPERATION:
Clinic Hours: Regular business hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm, excluding federal holidays; contractor personnel will work an 8-hour shift within the defined business hours.

PRIMARY PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: Ft. Harrison and Helena, MT.

Hourly Rate: $21.02 + Benefits

Clearance Level Required: Must be able to pass a Federal Background check. Employment is contingent upon approval of security clearance.
