DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:

The position of Curriculum Specialist Senior must have experience developing in-person and online training programs and mentoring staff. It is responsible for assisting in the creation and/or selection of course content and materials for training programs. Programs which are developed collaboratively, utilizing subject matter experts and by informally connecting with experts, mentors, and colleagues. The position must ensure that training methods, content, and equipment are appropriate, and the position often confers with government officials of other departments to identify training and curriculum requirements. The Senior Curriculum Specialist must align curriculum with the organization’s goals, develop and implement training programs, update training programs to ensure that they are relevant, monitor curricula delivery methods and skills of instructors and supervisors, and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.


REQUIRED AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • This position requires a Master’s degree in Education or related field such as Curriculum Development, or Instructional Design Curriculum or Educational Leadership with a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
  • Must have experience developing in-person and online training programs and mentoring staff.
  • Ability to develop and design educational curriculum materials, lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments.
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and administrators to ensure alignment with standards and training objectives.
  • Ability to evaluate and modify existing curriculum to ensure effectiveness and relevance.
  • Ability to conduct needs assessments and analyze learning data to inform curriculum development and improvement.
  • Ability to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into curriculum development and instructional practices.
  • Ability to maintain a comprehensive understanding of educational policies, regulations, and laws related to curriculum design and implementation.
  • Ability to provide training and professional development to staff on effective curriculum implementation and instructional strategies.
  • Ability to train instructors and supervisors on how to effectively use instructional materials.
  • Ability to develop educational materials for training programs.
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and instructors to design effective learning experiences.
  • Ability to conduct research and evaluation to measure the effectiveness of instructional materials.
  • Ability to ensure that educational materials meet curriculum standards and learning objectives.
  • Ability to stay current with trends and best practices in instructional design and education.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders throughout the design process.

The Government will leverage a mixture of an in-person and telework posture in support of PWS tasks based on operational requirements.

 

 

TRAVEL:

Required travel annually.

 

 

Clearance Level Required: Must be able to pass a Federal Background check. | Secret clearance is a plus.
